We have secured agreement from the Environment Agency to REPLACE the mitigation pipe and secure the lagoon’s future for years to come.
Sometime between January and March next year, the part of the pipe that runs between the sea and the coastal footpath will be replaced during low tides. The timber supporting the structure will also be replaced, using recycled timber from a coastal site in Bournemouth!
I hope this comes as welcome news to everyone who loves the Widewater Lagoon and I am so grateful to everyone who has played a role in making this happen, particularly the wonderful World of Widewater committee.
