Second biggest drop in NHS waiting list in 15 years
Thanks to our hard working NHS staff, record investment, and modernisation, waiting lists are down by over 20,400 at the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, and by 312,000 nationwide. There is a long road ahead, but Labour is fixing our health service in Adur and Worthing for the future.
Last week, a record-breaking offshore wind auction was secured by the Labour Government, which will provide enough power for 12 million homes and create 7,000 jobs. We are committed to tackling climate change, and I was proud to support the expansion of the Rampion Wind Farm.
Many residents have contacted me about SEND provision for children and young people, and I am pleased to share that teachers in Adur and Worthing will receive SEND training as part of Labour’s £200 million landmark programme.
To further support families, we have introduced stronger parental leave rights through our new Employment Rights Act.
In the constituency, it was good to meet with residents of Old Shoreham Road in Shoreham, before visiting Early Explorers Nursery in Worthing to meet with their wonderful team and later meeting residents supporting Dignity in Dying’s campaign.
It was also lovely to visit Guild Care’s Community Hub in Worthing, before holding my regular advice surgery in Lancing for residents. If I can ever help with a personal issue, please get in touch: [email protected]
I had a fantastic Saturday leafletting in Lancing and at Worthing Table Tennis Club, where I saw how they foster community among people of all ages. I even got the chance to try my hand at table tennis!
