10 million free breakfasts for primary school children

Thanks to Labour’s new breakfast clubs, we have now provided 10 million free breakfasts to primary school children.

No child deserves to go to school hungry, so I am really pleased that Shoreham has a free breakfast club at Holmbush Primary Academy, meaning children can start the school day right and helping families can save up to £450 a year. Another free breakfast club is expected to open in our constituency soon.

Last week we debated the NHS Modernisation Bill, which will introduce the single patient record. This will ensure patients will no longer have to repeat their stories unnecessarily and will receive safer, more co-ordinated care, as clinicians will have the full picture when and where it is needed.

Also in Parliament, I attended Air Ambulance’s annual reception to meet representatives from the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex, and EVA England to discuss the transition to electric vehicles with a constituent.

Back in the constituency, I enjoyed joining Shoreham Rowing Club to tour the club, meet their juniors and practice my rowing technique!

Over the weekend, I had a lovely (if wet!) afternoon exploring the Adur Art Trail and the Rosslyn Road Garden Trail, which raised funds for Shoreham and Adur Community Foodbank. It was wonderful to see the creativity of so many talented individuals in our area.

I also had the pleasure of visiting Northbrook College’s end-of-year creative industries exhibition where I saw the fantastic art, design, media and fashion work created by their students.

Finally, I stopped by Blundens in Shoreham to enjoy some delicious chips in celebration of National Fish and Chips Day!
