SGN have informed me that extensive essential gas works are due to take place on several roads across Findon Valley from Monday 11th August, to provide residents with a safe and efficient gas supply.
I have copied the information SGN has provided below, and they have reassured me that they will keep residents updated on this throughout. If you have any concerns or questions about the works that you’d like me to raise with SGN, please get in touch: [email protected]
Information provided by SGN:
From Monday 11 August for approximately nine months, SGN contractors I&G Contractors Limited will commence a significant programme of work to replace the gas main on various roads in Findon Valley in Worthing. Our engineers will be replacing the old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes to ensure we can continue to provide a safe and efficient gas supply to residents and avoid gas leaks in the future.
Due to the location of our pipes in the road, we’ll need to have varying traffic management in place as we progress through the programme of work.
Traffic management affecting all roads – for the majority of the works traffic will be able to pass on a give and take basis; when we approach junctions we will need to have multi-way lights in operation as instructed by the local authority. When we work on junctions with the A24 we will need to have directional road closures in place, the direction of the closure will be dependent on the side of the road we will be working on. We’ll keep residents updated on the changing traffic management as we progress through the programme of work.
Below is an outline of our intended programme, please note these dates are for guidance and may change submit to permit approvals from the council.
