We will remember them
Last week, our community came together to commemorate all those who gave their lives for our freedom.
It was very moving to attend the Remembrance Sunday services in Southwick and Lancing. Thank you to everyone who helped organise these incredibly important and reflective occasions.
I was also honoured to plant a cross on behalf of everyone living in East Worthing and Shoreham in the Constituency Garden of Remembrance in Parliament.
We will remember them.
We will also ensure that military homes are fit for our heroes: the Government has announced upgrades to over 14,000 military homes in the South East.
In the House of Commons, I raised my concerns about how many local patients are unable to access NHS dentists with the Deputy Prime Minister and was pleased to hear about the Government’s work to roll out extra urgent and emergency dentist appointments across the country, as well as the recruitment of more dentists and reforms to contracts to ensure dentists work in the NHS for a minimum number of years.
Back in the constituency, it was great to visit Southwick Leisure Centre before running my regular advice surgery for residents in Southwick.
It was a joy to collect Christmas cards for my competition from local schools and attend a BBC Bitesize Careers event at Sir Robert Woodard Academy in Lancing. I also saw a fantastic rhythmic gymnastics performance by iSTAR Academy at Shoreham Academy.
Finally, I had a lovely time at the sunny Shoreham Farmers’ Market, followed by door knocking in Fishersgate to check in on residents alongside our wonderful local councillors!
