I’m pleased to have been appointed as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
This means I’ll be supporting the brilliant ministerial team at Defra to improve and protect the environment, grow the green economy, support our world-leading food, farming and fishing industries – and of course, cleaning up our waterways and seas!
It does mean I won’t be able to speak in the chamber on Defra-related issues – but that won’t stop me from continuing to push on issues that matter to us here, especially in relation to water, sewage, flooding and our beautiful coastline, rivers and seas.
There’s not an issue I’ve raised more in Parliament since the election and I’ll continue to support the Government’s work to bolster our flood defences and clean up the water industry once and for all.
