The Prime Minister has secured a £8 billion defence deal with Turkey for the provision of 20 UK Typhoon fighter jets, driving economic growth and creating 20,000 skilled jobs in the UK.
Last week, the Prime Minister visited Peacehaven mosque following the awful arson attack. I welcome the Government’s additional £10 million in security funding for mosques and faith centres to support and protect our Muslim communities.

Last week saw me head up to Liverpool for Labour Party Conference, where a number of important announcements were made – including an NHS online hospital service to make it easier for people to access appointments remotely, as well as funding for a library in every primary school.
Our Labour government is determined to make local government more efficient and responsive to residents’ needs. Here in Sussex we’re electing a Mayor next May, and our district, borough and county councils will merge – reducing waste, ending duplication, and making sure the same council that does the roads also does the bins.
