Last week, I set out my view that the Prime Minister should set a timetable for his departure and for a new leader to be chosen to lead the Labour Party and the country.

The Labour Government announced £371,000 of funding for the refurbishment of the Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham, which will be spent improving the box office, air conditioning, acoustics and auditorium.
I am pleased to welcome a £371,000 funding boost for Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham as part of the Labour Government’s latest investment in cultural venues across the country.
This funding, delivered through the £1.5 billion Arts Everywhere Fund, will help refurbish the venue and secure its future, with improvements to the box office, air conditioning, acoustics and auditorium.
Parliament is officially back in session after the Easter recess. Over the past couple of weeks, the Labour Government has continued to implement new measures aimed at easing the cost of living and providing support to those who need it most.
After advocating for stronger protections for workers in our area, I am pleased that this Labour Government is delivering new measures to enhance workers’ rights and increase pay for local people.
In response to parents’ concerns, the Government also announced new guidance last week on screen time for children, advising that screen use be limited to one hour a day for two to five-year-olds.
After campaigning in Parliament, I am delighted that Adur and Worthing will receive nearly £4 million for our flood defences, building long-term resilience for our community and helping to protect homes and businesses in Shoreham, Lancing and Worthing.
